Introduction

If the device doesn't charge or won't record audio, then the microphone and charging port may need to be replaced. These components are located on the daughterboard.

Turn off the device.
  • Turn off the device.

  • Heat and use an iOpener to soften the screen adhesive.

  • Wedge an opening tool around the seam of the device to remove the screen.

Slowly pull the screen off the device with your hands.

Using a screwdriver, remove the nine 3.5 mm T5 screws holding the  mid-frame in place. The device's mid-frame has 9 screws total, but in the device shown, there are only 8.

Wedge an opening tool into the notch that is located at the top left part of the phone. Slide the opening tool across the seam of the device and lift the mid-frame.

Remove the silver 2.5 mm T5 screw holding the daughterboard in place.

Using tweezers, lift the contact pads located to the left of the daughterboard.

  • When lifting the daughterboard, be careful not to damage the signal wires connected on the back.

Using a spudger, disconnect the black and white signal wires located at the bottom of the daughterboard. Remove the daughterboard from the device. Remove the daughterboard from the device.

Hi, I’m looking to fix my google pixel, it has the common microphone problem where I can’t record any audio/ make calls on m device. Where can i purchase a replacement for the daughterboard? I really need to get it fixed. Thanks
