Background and Identification ¶
This device was released in September of 2013, identified model number HDR-AS30V. It's top features include a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tesser lens with a 170-degree angle of view as well as a BIONZ image processor and 1/2.3-inch back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and Wi-Fi/GPS capabilities. The Sony HDR-AS30V also includes clear, adjustable 1080p performance.
The HDR-AS30V was produced solely in black along with a water-proof casing that is easily mountable (tripod, helmet, etc.). The device is identified by its convenient size and prominent SONY logo on the outer face of the camera itself as well as the product name -HDR-AS30V- to the left of the viewing screen.
