The Civic coupé is considered a true compact car.

The Civic was Honda’s first automobile model to impact the market outside of Japan, and it became one of the most influential automobiles of the 1970s. They gained a reputation for being reliable and fuel-efficient vehicles. Newer Civic iterations have focused on performance and sportiness, especially the Civic GTi, Civic VTi, Civic Type R, and Civic SiR/Si.

The Honda Civic is a popular car for modification and customization. By February 2015, Honda had sold 18.5 million Civic vehicles worldwide, with 7.3 million Civics sold in the United States. In 2019, the Honda Civic was the second best-selling car in the United States, after the Toyota Camry.

Honda automobiles can be identified by the Honda emblem, which depicts an ‘H’ inside a rectangle with soft corners. Honda Civic vehicles in the Americas also include an emblem on the left side of the rear end of the car, which depicts the name ‘Civic’ in capital letters. Honda Civic Hybrid vehicles also include a hybrid emblem on the right side of the rear end of the car, which depicts the word ‘hybrid’ in capital letters.
