The HP Pavilion 15-cc561st is an entry-level laptop from HP’s line of laptops called HP Pavilion 15. The "15" means that the display has a diagonal length of 15.6 inches. Within the group HP Pavilion 15 laptops, there are model numbers from 15-cc500 through 15-cc599—these laptops make up the 15-cc500 series. The HP Pavilion 15-cc561st is one particular laptop in this series. "st" means that the laptop is a model that was distributed by Staples.
According to an HP blog post, the targeted demographic for HP Pavilion 15 laptops include high school and college students, recent graduates, and young professionals on a budget but who still want a laptop with decent performance.
The original selling price is hard to find for the HP Pavilion 15-cc561st which was originally released in July 2017. A website that kept track of a coupon deal from Staples in February 2018 states that Staples offered the laptop at $469.99 which is a probable original selling price.
The HP Pavilion 15-cc561st mostly differs from other 15-cc500 series laptops in internal components that aren’t visible without taking the bottom lid off. These differences don’t significantly affect how parts are to be removed since HP’s Maintenance and Service Guide provides the same removal procedures for all 15-cc500 series laptops.
The laptop has a width of 37.8 cm (14.9 in), a depth of 25.2 cm (9.9 in), and a height of 1.9 cm (0.8 in). The laptop weighs 1.9 kg (4.4 lb).
The model number is printed on the back of the laptop. There should be a blurb of text above the vents on the back. The last line should start with "Model 15-cc561st" followed by "ProdID 1KU29UA#ABA". #ABA is an option code that means North America. HP uses this option code to specify which region the laptop was sold to—the HP Pavilion 15-cc561st was only sold in North America.
The entire lower lid of the laptop (the bottom cover and keyboard) is silver in color (HP calls this "natural silver"). The outside of the upper lid has a gray finish (HP calls this "mineral silver"), and the interior display bezel is black. The HP Pavilion 15-cc561st was only sold in these colors and only with the United States keyboard layout.
