Background
The DeWalt DW938 variable speed reciprocating saw is powered by an 18-volt NiCd battery. The batteries have been upgraded to Lithium batteries in recent years. The NiCd batteries are known to lose battery life over time. Dewalt has never recalled this device.
Features of this device are as follows: a blade release for easy blade replacement, a variable speed trigger, a saw blade cover for safety.
Identification
The DeWalt reciprocating saw features a yellow and black housing. The DeWalt logo is printed in yellow on a black label on the side of the tool. You can find the model number on a label located on the bottom of the tool, below the handle, and next to the battery connector.
