Tools

These are some common tools used to work on this device. You might not need every tool for every procedure.

Background and Identification

Black and Decker was founded by S. Duncan Black and Alonzo G. Decker in 1910. The company started out manufacturing tools, but it slowly expanded to manufacture devices for a variety of industries. Today, Black and Decker produces power tools, lawn and garden appliances, home cleaning devices, and more.

Within their selection of home cleaning devices, Black and Decker offers a myriad of vacuums, including cordless stick vacuums, upright vacuums, and handheld vacuums. Black and Decker vacuums offer cleaning solutions for everything from quick crumb clean-ups to thorough spring cleaning.

Black and Decker vacuums don’t all look alike. The cordless stick vacuums have a base with vacuum-sucking technology that is designed to slide across the floor. The base attaches to a thin, circular extension that has a handle and removable canister at the top. Black and Decker upright vacuums have a larger base with a larger canister located directly above the base. They are significantly heavier and designed to stand upright by themselves. Lastly, Black and Decker handheld vacuums don’t have a base at all. They have a handle with an outwardly extending canister that attaches to a rectangular vacuuming piece. Handheld vacuums are designed for the user to glide by hand along the area they wish to clean.
