Background and Identification
Apple's external webcam, the Apple iSight, was first released in 2003. The camera uses a 1/4 inch color charge-coupled device (CCD) sensor which provides a 640x480-pixel VGA resolution. The three-part F/2.8 lens provides an auto-focus of 50 mm to infinity, autoexposure features, and a shutter speed of up to 30 frames per second. The camera connects to a desktop/laptop via Firewire (IEEE 1394). The Apple iSight weighs approximately 2.24 ounces.
