Adding 6 gb of ram to emc 2133 iMac

I currently have the EMC 2133 and i'd like to maximize my ram performace. is it Ok to do the 6gb (max) as a 4gb sim and a 2 gb sim. I am operating Lion and also am curious what 2 4gb sims would do?
