Any aftermarket cooling solutions for MacBook A1342

Hey there, quick question here. I was wondering if there are any good aftermarket fans or heatsinks that are good for this model of Macbook? I am not having a problem with overheating (idles between 40c-42c, gaming takes it to 65c or so), but was more wondering about ways to make this laptop even cooler.

Was going to be replacing the thermal paste here soon with some Arctic MX-4. Was wondering if there are any good fans/heatsinks/tips anybody else has may have regarding this?

Thanks in advance for any help :D

Right on. Replacing the thermal paste was certainly top of my list. Not that I doubt Apple uses quality paste, but I really want to see what the MX-4 will do for me.

I do use Lubbo's fan control under Windows to increase cooling, knocking it up to just under max once it hits 60c. I was a bit worried about burning out the fan, but I see decently priced OEM replacements that I will likely get as well.

Good call on the laptop pads. Technically my first laptop, so their existence had escaped my mind at the time.

Laptop is in pretty good shape. Got it new in box about 6 months ago actually, so it hasn't quite had the year or two of abuse other models have gotten ;)

Thanks for the tips Machead :D

I know of no custom heat sinks... with a machine that age removing and replacing the thermal paste will go a long way towards making it run cooler.

You can use a 3rd Party app to make the fans come on sooner, run at higher speed - but the down side is that can shorten the fan's life...so if you lean in this direction by all means replace the fans while you're in there doing the thermal paste.

There are several cooling options from those that are basically icepacks to units with their own battery operated fans. You wouldn't need to look for Mac only laptop pads.
