it only works while it is plugged in
a couple months ago my ipod nano went through the wash and i did the rice thing and now it only works whilke it is pluged in i have no idea whats wrong with it

steven konig, you actually already answer it yourself :) if "it only works while it is plugged in" check the dock connector for any bend,b broken, or corroded pins. If that checks out okay, time to replace the battery. Here are the guides. BTW Rice is a great first aid, but it will not work if A. your device remains assembled, and B. it will not prevent corrosion, and C. not remove any liquid from inside connectors and switches.
