Earpiece buzzing after screen replacement

So I just switched out the screen on an iPhone 4S, and immediately after finishing, I noticed that the earpiece volume was incredibly low.

I took it back apart, made sure the earpiece area was pressed right up against the little hole, and put it back together.

Now, the volume is closer to normal, but things sound very buzzy. Any idea what I did wrong or how to correct this? Others face similar problems?

Speakers always have a very small current running through them at all times, if you think of laptops and speakers, even if you have nothing playing, there will be a very faint 'beeeee', this happens as the electronics components maybe operating at 20,000 cycles a second, the very slight frequency change affects the speaker's magnet and makes a high pitch noise!

It seems that as you have reassembled the device, a slightly higher amount of current is going to the speaker. Possibly from the oil on your hands, so try using a degreasing agent and clean the metal-to-metal contacts.

Hope this helps!
