Does the SSD kit from Ifixit work with a mid2010 iMac?

Hi,

I just want to know of the kit that you're selling for installing a ssd, work on a mid2010 iMac?

If no, why? Are the sata cables not the same?

Best regards

The SATA cables are not the same. We're working on getting a cable that works for the 2010 models. As Mayer posted, right now your only option is replacing the optical drive with a second HDD or SSD.

I'd REALLY like to create my own Fusion drive, in my Mid-2010 21.5" iMac. I am learning that isn't possible (insert sad face here.) Next best thing, I'm thinking, would be to ADD an SDD, making it the boot drive, and then use the 1TB drive as a data drive. Is this possible?
