Why am I unable to load data from a secure memory stick?

I have a Cruzer memory stick with a security code. When I put the stick into a USB port and click to open, I get a page of code and intro 'this program cannot be run in DOS mode'. Same with an imation memory stick. Both work fine with PC's. Can you help please?

Are you trying to run a PC formatted USB on a Macbook? Possibly the MacOS does not read your PC files

There are a few different formats of memory one can use, and not all of them work with both OSX and Windows.

Try this list to see which formats will work with OSX and which will not.

You may need to copy your files onto a PC, reformat the drive into a format that is compatible with both OSX and Windows, and copy them back to use with your Mac.
