SIM card spring installation

I have recently replaced the iPhone 3G back cover and after putting everything together. I could push the SIM card in but I'm not able to pop-up when I use the ejector tool. While reassembling the phone, I have tighten the screw on the SIM card plastic spring - do we need to tight this all the way or keep it loose so that the spring can move up down when you push with ejector tool from outside. I

Maybe you installed the (airplane propeller looking) ejector part upside down. Also make sure the screw hole for this part is in the correct location. Replacement 3G back cover sometimes do not even have this hole location, and you have to make one.
