I've got a PSU for a TV that has stopped powering on. One of what I'm pretty sure is a fuse shows no continuity with my multimeter so I expect it's just a blown fuse. I'm trying to determine if the marks on this fuse are standardized to help identify it, or if I should trust the writing on the board instead.

@boushley the marking on the board as well as the one on the fuse are identical and your fuse is simply a F8A H 250V. The F stands for Fast Acting (Flink) 8A (ampere rating) H For High Breaking Capacity and a Voltage rating of 250V.
Fast acting fuses are used in common circuits where a typical fault will cause it to blow but voltage spikes and quick voltage variation will not cause it to blow. This would be in contrast to an FF=Very fast acting fuse. Those are commonly used in very sensitive circuits.
The High breaking capacity means that there is usually not a damaging arc when the fuse blows (due to the fuse element being enclosed in a ceramic material (steatite).
Last but not least the word "Flink" that is used to describe the "speed" of the fuse comes from the German word meaning "quick" or "fast-acting". There are also very fast acting fuses (Flink Flink) vs. the slow acting fuse using the term "Trage" which is "Träge" in German and means "slow, sluggish, or lethargic" No idea why those those terms are being used when describing fuses :-)

It looks to me like the markings on this fuse probably match the ones on the board, 8A H 250V (probably F8AH250V on the fuse). It's a ceramic axial fuse rated for 8 amps and 250 volts. I can't tell what size this is for sure though. Fuses are typically pretty standard sizes, but there are few it could be so I would measure its length to be sure.

The fuse lettering and the writing on the board look consistent, based on your photo. I'm guessing it's 8 amps. Both say F8A.
If there is more writing on the fuse I would strongly trust that, versus the board text.
