Strong Gas Smell In Cabin

I have a very strong gas smell inside the cabin. it's worse with the ac/heater on but even turning it completely off it doesn't get rid of the smell. Started as we were heading to a college football game, and we had to leave early because my daughter got a strong headache. It's bad bad. any help would be appreciated
