Intermittent Pink lines on display

I started getting intermittent pink lines in the middle of my display yesterday, do I need an inverter board, or a new bulb, or a new display? It comes and go and goes away if I touch the left side by the display or the back of the display, so weird stuff!

The problem is not related to the LCD lightning system (inverter cable, inverter board, backlight lamp) but to the video system (LCD panel, LVDS video cable, graphic processor unit). Connecting the MBP to an external monitor would indicate if the GPU is failing or not but from your description it looks like a LCD panel failure or a bad LVDS cable. I would suspect a bad LCD panel but could not confirm without checking the LVDS cable connections or replacing the cable.
