when removing the back cover?

Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1

I need to change the digitizer and when I first remove that back cover and open the tablet, must I remove anything (such as battery, cables) ? I was wondering if the heat gun would ruin any other parts due to heat?

thanks but that tablet is a different model with completely different instructions. :( the digitizer on the 10.1 tab is held together by double sided foam tape
