Nintendo's upgraded version of the Nintendo 3DS. It features bigger screens, longer battery life, better pixel density, and a better design.

Select button stuck, always pressed

My 3DS XL has had an issue with the select button for a few months.

The button is stuck down and is always recognised as pressed.

I have tried cleaning the button using compressed air and opening up the console to check the contact (which seems to be perfectly clean)

I saw a GBAtemp thread about this issue but the solution was to remap the select button (which I do not want to do).

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi!

The button is directly soldered on the motherboard. Replacing is possible, but won't be easy as you need to (micro) solder the broken one out and solder the new one in.

You could try cleaning the button with isopropyl alcohol and see if that works.

If not, the only options you have is replacing it OR remapping it.
