Overlapping frames and the slipping gear

Regarding "Overlapping Frames: The film advance motor also uses a press fit plastic pinion gear. If the gear starts to slip, the film will not be fully advanced to the next frame. When the next frame is exposed, it will overlap with the previous frame."

What do you do to repair this? Have you found a good Loctite glue for the plastic gear?
