battery good for power up...dc board or possibly logic board?

So I have determined that my ibook will power up with a new battery installed....will NOT power with a new mac adapter. No color, no sound, nothing. Can I be sure that it is the DC board or is it possible the ibook will power up from the battery with a faulty logic board?

If it seems to be running OK with the battery, the logic board is probably fine. Use a multimeter to test the output of the AC adapter, both the old and the new. If they are the same, replace the DC-IN board.

I didn't like the replacement power supply due to no color bands so I'm sending it back and getting the mac one...gonna grab another dc in board and cross my fingers. Fortunately the new working dc in board, power supply and new battery are coming with another identical ibook g4 that is having other issues than power up so hopefully I'll fix my problem and have some spare parts as well.

Thanks for all the great answers...
