iPhone 13 Mini Battery Replacement

I replaced the battery in a customers iPhone 13 Mini, and it went fine, but for some reason the phone keeps saying the battery is at 1% every time the phone is rebooted. Does it just need calibrated? Is this a bad battery? I ordered it here on the iFixit site, so I assume I can get a refund or new item or something like that. Just curious as to what the problem could be.

The customer says they followed the steps of charging the phone to 100%, letting it sit for an hour on the charger at 100%, and letting it die completely, then charging the phone again to 100%, and apparently the battery will still show 1% after rebooting. Is this an issue with the battery needing reprogramed to be swapped in the phone? As far as I understood, that wasn't necessary for a battery replacement.....

Customer contacted me again, and said the battery is reporting correctly now. Just very strange honestly. I'll end up holding onto the next one longer to ensure it isn't a problem of course.
