The DualShock 4 CUH-ZCT2 was announced in 2016 to replace the CUH-ZCT1 controller released in 2013. This controller is similar to the previous model.

My controller's joystick overshoots under the slightest touch.

Hello. Recently I discovered that my ps4 controller overshoots a lot. This happens in the left joystick and only if I push it slightly up.Not down, left, right. If I push it up a bit more it starts working normally again from all directions. Is there a fix for this? Please let me know the problem and the fix if possible. Thanks a lot.

Hi!

Do you mean that you are experiencing drift? If yes, then I'm afraid you need to replace the joystick. This can be difficult, as it's soldered on the motherboard.

Here you can find how to do it: DualShock 4 Left Analog Stick Replacement

While you are there, it's recommended to replace it for a Hall Effect joystick!

Please let us know how it goes!

@dan0 Hello thanks for the answer. I don't think it's drift as it doesn't move by itself, only when I push it up slightly, it pinches all the way up and stutters. If I push it up a bit more, it starts working normally again. Is that considered drift? I'll replace the joystick and let you know.
