About Inch Width Screen Abnormality

I recently got the screen on my iPad first generation 16GB wifi from this website, and when I got it back, I noticed that about an inch thick strip of the screen does not respond to touch. An example of this is when you are using an application that you can color on, and you use a black "paint," all of the screen will turn black with the exception of the strip that goes horizontally when in landscape orientation.

Not sure what is wrong, considering the rest of the screen works.

Thank you!

Did you purchase the Part from us here at iFixit, and have someone else do the repair? Or did you send your iPad somewhere and they did the repair for you?

I had it sent to iFixit actually, and they fixed it for me. But a few days after I got it back the screen started to do what I stated in the above.

Are you certain it was us? We don't do repairs here in house, however, we do sell the parts to fix it yourself. I would contact the company you sent in the iPad to, as it does sound like the front panel is defective.

The screen is likely defective. It is a possibility that the flex cable is not inserted into the jawbone connector properly/all the way and that can cause this too. But more than likely it is a defective part.

Sounds like it is a defective screen.
