Anyone have some tips on how to remove these small scratches or flecks from the top case or at least make it look 'better'...

I would just slap on a skin.

There is really nothing you can do to match the current anodized finish. Here’s some deeper details on WHAT IS ANODIZED ALUMINUM?

This has to be one of your worst ever answers ......there must be a trick to hide these 'black' dots even with a touch of the right color something.... Everyone seems to prefer these see through cases of various colors but the dots are still visible.

@livfe - It’s what I do on my own systems as they’ve been well warn. I use the carbon fiber ones but the lion print also works well. The see through cases is not what I would use as you need an opaque covering or one that has a non repeating pattern.

Sure paint the whole case some funky color one of my customers did that but paint chips off making it more of a mess. Touchup paint won’t match the finish and will also be a small bump.

The last option is just going over the wall in my opinion. Here you’ll need to strip the system down and then find a person who does anodize finishes to redo the case.

@danj I was on the lines of 'filling' it out and then using a polisher or buffer to iron out any 'bumps' Difficult to find a close enough 'match' with paint, it must not be perfect but enough to hide it with a clear case on after....

@livfe - It’s not like a car using bon-do to fill the voids. Trust me I’ve tried polishing but once the soft inner Aluminum is exposed by polishing you can’t undo it. Think how an onion outer layer protects the inner parts being harder but thinner. Once the outer cover is removed there’s nothing to protect the inner part. That’s how an anodize finish is created the Aluminum is converted to the much harder Aluminum Oxide. But this coating is very thin.

I know you want a magic solution to fill in and match I haven’t found one yet. Why don’t you play around on a junk cover see what you can find.

@danj Plenty of junk here to try LOL Starting with that 2010.....
