ECAM 23.210.b initialisation fails when unit press brew piston switch

@vauweh I have also an other coffeemaker who gives me headaches...

It’s an ECAM 23.210.b. This one turn on, but at the initialisation when the unit touch the top limit switch from the brew piston something strange happens.

On the screen leds shows this sequence :

  • Warning led comes on
  • Warning led goes off
  • ESC + OK leds comes on
  • ESC + OK leds goes off
  • Temperature led comes on
  • Temperature led goes off
  • Warning lights up and stays on

I have changed a lot of parts because the previous owner tried to fix it and did some damage… So, the brew piston and the unit are brand new. The transmission motor is changed by a second-hand one. The previous owner give me 2 power boards and 2 water pumps with the coffeemaker.

After changing the parts listed above, the coffeemaker at the initialisation worked normally. However, when I pressed « 1 cup » the grinder came on 1 sec and I got the error as there was no grounds in unit.

I think the previous owner did damage on the two power boards. Because one of the two board has broken connectors. What do you think ?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Well - yess, maybe. First try to apply some grease to the long drive spindel. Or replace the microswitch?

The drive spindel is already greased because I disassembled and reassembled all the coffeemaker to clean it. I greased all parts thats need it. The microswitch is brand new because I changed the brew piston unit and it comes with new microswitch

Oh yes, that sounds like a defective power board. Some boards are reasonably inexpensiv. Perhaps you can identify the guilty parts and replace them.

Today, I tried something. I unscrewed the unit top limit switch from the brew piston. I pushed manually the switch when the piston was inside the unit and the coffeemaker worked without default... Do you think it is possible the motor is too weak to push the top limit switch, like an overload security on the motor ? (its look like the same problem as my first post with Delonghi ESAM4200S...)
