Late 2008 MacBook Pro 15" LCD ASSEMBLY on MacBook Pro 2009

Hey

I have a late 2008 LCD assembly and I attached it to my MID 2009 15" Unibody Macbook Pro and it works perfect!

But it wont go to sleep anymore as the magnets are in different locations behind the glass on the two models. Is there any way to get it to still sleep without ripping open the glass
