Why is the computer on but no menu

iMac G5 20"22 Model A1145

The computer was dropped . I open the back and a screw hanging. when i put it back n plugged my computer back on . u can hear the fan running then just the apple screen is running and nothing is popping up.

Options

First reset the power (SMU) by unplugging the machine for ten seconds and then plugging it back in. This failing, insert your system installation DVD and try restarting while holding down the "C" key. Let us know your results. Was the machine on when it dropped?
