Left in overnight rain

Last night i went to play football in my garden so i put my ipod nano down and forgot to pick it up. That night there was heavy rain. When i retrieved it in the morning it worked but only just, it turned off repetedly and had a few white screens and crashed. Later it crashed again but then when it un crashed the ipod wont turn on or even connect to itunes. Please help.

Jacob Winton Wright, first thing to do is to not even try to plug it in or to start it. The second thing to do is to clean it properly, use this guide. The guides to get your iPod disassembled are here. It is a bit of a PITA to work on but it is doable. Once cleaned change the battery the battery is available right here. Reevaluate after this and see what residual damage,if any, you have. Hope this helps to get your iPod working again. Good Luck
