Power button not working

The power button on my OG iPod Touch does nothing. I do not have the appropriate tools to open it up and investigate the problem, but does anybody know any possible reasons for this issue so I can order them?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

the power button is on the top left, and attached to the housing. it likely uses this as a ground, or a conductor. under the cable that you see beneath the button, it really might just need to be cleaned so that they make contact. the top of the ribbon can also be cleaned, as it connects to a spring inside the device which can also be cleaned (GENTLY) Otherwise, on the right side of the housing, opposite the ribbon cable, there’s a pogo pin. it and it’s mate could also be cleaned(GENYLY) although that side is probably the just the wifi antenna
