@gladysmaga92228 no matter what device, you must take care of the water damage before it corrodes your boards and components. Leaving water damage to dry naturally will leave some residue on the circuit boards that will eventually cause death by short-circuit.

For now, you want to stop trying to sync, charge or start your tablet. That can make a bad situation worse. Time to disassemble it and clean it. First, you need to completely disassemble your tablet. This is where you need to help us to help you. To help you with the disassemble process, we need to know the exact model of your Alcatel tablet.

Once you have your tablet apart, you will have to remove the motherboard as well as any other board. You will have to remove all the EMI shields from any of those boards. If you do not remove the shields, you are not doing a proper clean:-)

Main issues here will be the motherboard etc. Take a close look at all components and connectors. Look for major corrosion, evaluate the pins in the connectors etc,. Take a look at all connectors as well as cable ends. Once you got any gross contamination cleaned, use 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and clean your parts some more. For a proper cleaning, use this guide. It was written for an Apple iPhone 3G but it is still pertinent to your tablet as well. I cannot stress the importance of a good cleaning enough, so do it over and over while replacing the alcohol after each cleaning. It would of course be best to get it professionally cleaned. Do not forget to replace the battery, this is a must and not an option. It will fail if you do not take care of it now.

After that, reassemble your tablet and re-evaluate. For as long as you have not cleaned your boards and replaced the battery, everything is just a guess. Bottom line, after all the techno babble, clean the boards, check for corrosion and damaged components, change the battery.

Keep in mind that water damage is the hardest to troubleshoot and to repair. It does not matter if it was exposed for 2 seconds or 2 hours, what matters is where the water (particulates) did the damage.
