What Part do I need to Replace for a Broken Screen?

So my nephew is only 8, and his temper got the best of him and learned the hard way why we don't throw controllers when games make us angry. The screen on his switch wasn't cracked outwardly, but definitely has damage when turned on. The LCD part is pretty messed up with lines everywhere. I want to fix it for him because he's so bummed out but I want to make sure I get the right part first but not sure which kit I need.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

To clarify, it's the original model, it's not a Lite or OLED

You can either replace just the LCD, or the LCD and digitizer as a unit. The LCD alone is cheaper (and currently in stock, unlike the screen assembly lol), but replacing the whole assembly makes for an easier repair. Personally I'd go with just the LCD, but do whatever makes sense for you.
