Charging system and powering on

When I press and hold the power button to power on my phone,it displays the charging sign then turns off and won't charge.but when I use my friends phone to charge the battery and put it back to my phone it operates normally

It could be a faulty charging port that isn't supplying enough power to your battery to keep it functional.
