I pretty sure you can. Idk what the cable is called but I know you use the mini display port or thunderbolt if you have it.

Nara, personally I would ask if either of these guys has actually done this on a Mac made prior to 2010. I had to use a MigliaTV product http://www.miglia.com/products/tv.php

to get TV on my Mac and a Videosecu PC to TV Converter VGA to RCA S-Video Mac Computer Laptop to Composite Video Switcher VGA2TV 1L7 to do it.

But I've actually done it, maybe these guys know things I don't.

On the late 2009 iMac and 2010 + products go this way to get from Mini DisplayPort to HDMI: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241

On 2009 and back machines with a Mini Display port go this way: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech...

It's always possible connecting a recent Macbook to a TV. I don't remember which Video Output has your model (if it's a miniDVI, or a standard DVI, or a Thunderbolt), but there are adapters suited for using VGA or HDMI monitors, and most modern television have VGA and HDMI connection. Place some better loudspeakers, connect the Video-out to your TV and you're set.

You may need an audio cable for sound in addition to the Standard/Mini DVI to HDMI converter cable. Otherwise your MacBook speakers will be used in older models.

I'd sure like to see a link on this on any Mac made prior to 2011.
