determining the lcd brand?

Is there anyway to determine if this model is LG or non LG without having to open it up and look at the stickers on the back of the lcd display?

@robertsmit75254 if your iMAc still works you could try this terminal command:

ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

or check this one

Otherwise you will have to open it up and look at the labels :-)

What is your reason here? This is a bit of an odd question.

There is no means via software to identify the display maker. The best you can get is via the system information tool which you can access via About This Mac.

FYI - The LG display is LM201WE3(TL)(F8)

It’s been awhile since I’ve needed to service one, I do believe LG was the only supplier.
