I’m still having trouble sliding the top panel forward enough to lift it. I tried to pry it with a screwdriver and it moves somewhat, but not enough. I applied lubricant, and even hit the back with a rubber mallet without success. What do I do now?

@frank27307

Did you remove the screws that hold the cover onto the back of the control panel?

Yes, I removed the 3 screws

The first technician that I spoke with from ifixit told me there was a manufacturer recall for this condition (removing the top cover).

I meant all the other screws along the bottom edge of the back panel that hold the back panel onto the control panel.

In all of the videos I checked they have been removed as well even though the back panel is still on.

Best I can count is that there's 3 possible 4 plus the 3 that you removed.
