3gs has white screen after replacing headphone jack

i followed the steps to replace the headphone socket and when i have put it all back together switch on and only get a white screen if i hold the home button the voice control works so something is there. ive checked all the connectors are in properly any ideas?

First step with White Screen is iPhone Reset. Hold both Home and Power Buttons until the iPhone begins to restart usually about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.
