Does the MacBook Air M2 A2681 have a screen with paired chip?

Hi, I recently had a MacBook M1 Pro 14" with a paired chip, so I had to abandon the repair as I didn't want to risk it. I wanted to know whether the MacBook Air M2 A2681 has a paired chip. I can see many videos on it on YouTube, and nobody mentions this with regard to this specific model. Please let me know if you know or if you have done a screen repair for this model

I personally haven’t done this exact model but the iFixit team as done a good guide on replacing the screen MacBook Air 2022 (M2) Screen Replacement

Here we see the notation: Replacing your screen disables its True Tone functionality

So you can replace the display only loosing TrueTone.

We do need to be careful on using the word Paired as the only paired elements are the TouchID button and logic board. Apple loves to confuse! And many leverage this for click bate!

So let’s see if we can back wind this a bit. The 2018 & 2019 systems require a used display as the camera firmware will be present. Using a fresh display directly from the parts supplier won’t have the firmware installed which means unless you are Apple you can’t access to the calibration tool which is not accessible to you. If you have a M Series system you can get a replacement display from Apple and then you gain access to the calibration tool via a paywall site for the one time!

Even still TrueTone requires access to the calibration tool. Just don’t blame the Messenger!
