Is it possible to replace 8gb 256gb M1 with 16gb 512gb M1 logicboard

Hello everyone, I was wondering if its possible to replace 8GB 256GB M1 logicboard with a 16gb 512gb M1 logic board without any issues? Is the motherboard paired with the chassis just like the touch sensor is paired with the logic board?
