Touch bar changed, no signs of life

Greetings all,

Yesterday I've managed to change to touch bar on my MacBook Pro as the old was flickering and drove me crazy. The replacement part I've got matches the P/N of the old one. Unfortunately, after the install the light bar had no signs of life.

I was extra carful with the installation and I'm sure nothing was damaged during the process of installation.

The touch bar option in the menu is no longer available...

Old touch bar P/N: 821-00681-A (1942 075)
New touch bar P/N: 821-00681-A (1842 066)
Flex cable: x1526 (tree line version)

Please suggest where I went wrong or what should I do, I've already doublecheck all the connections.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Are you sure the issue was the panel Vs the driver board?

not sure, but I would expect the same behaviour right? ... I guess the next step would be replacing the driver board.

@mariolipcik - Depends on what happened and how the display is reacting.

@danj Original touch bar was rapidly flickering/flashing white with full brightness from right to left, halfway only and still count be used (I was just getting sick from it after a while). From time to time it would stop, but shortly started again. The new touch bar isn't showing any signs of life...

@mariolipcik - That’s sounds like a driver issue.

@danj any advice where to get it?
