The switch lite just seems dead it won’t turn on or charge

We’ll need some more details to get you a more complete solution, but there’s a fairly good list of steps at the Nintendo Switch Won’t Turn On troubleshooting page.
Faulty Charge port would be my first bet, but there are a fair number of reasons that could result in this issue.

maybe a bad charge port, best having a technician look at it if you want it repaired
