Which LCD screen should I look for?

Hi

I have a late 2012 27 inch iMac and the bottom left and right LED banks are failing. I am getting the fan shaped dimming on the screen.

I am just wondering if that year iMac has a specific screen that I need to be looking for or are there others that are compatible?

I don't really want to separate the screen from the body as yet as I am still using the iMac daily so I can't get to the part number.

The model iMac is A1419 and the EMC is 2546.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou for replying. I've done a few screen swaps in the past but I wasn't sure if screens were specific to EMC and model years etc. Apart from the 4K and 5K screens, I just assumed they would work.

I didn't know that the LED's can be replaced.

You do need to use the correct display assembly for your system, here’s the guide to properly get it off and the steps to install a new one iMac Intel 27" EMC 2546 Display Replacement and here’s the needed part iMac 27" LCD Display Panel & Front Glass Assembly (12/13) keep an eye out as they pop up! They will be used as they are no longer being made.

Even still, you might find a used system to salvage the backlight unit and just swap it out.
