Try replacing the battery first and check if everything works OK. There may not be a problem with the charge port also, unless you know that it is physically damaged
Here's a video that shows what to do.
Note: Be extremely careful when removing the battery, as you don't want to damage it during the removal process. Here's the ifixit What to do with a swollen battery guide that may help.
Search online for BL-216 battery (or BL-267 battery) to find suppliers that suit you best. Apparently there are two battery models available which are both compatible with the phone. The battery model number should be printed on your battery if you wish to verify which one you have now.
