I want to upgrade my MacBook Air‘s SSD

I want to upgrade my Macbook Air 2017 (128gb, intel i5, 8gb ram) with: Samsung 970 Evo Plus or Samsung 980. Both of them with 500GB version.

Will they be compatible with my Macbook?

Is this a good adapter? Will it be compatible with this SSDs?

How about functions in Macbook, will everything be working the same as before?

I’m not a lover of these adapters, I’ve pulled quite a few out with damaged SSDs.

I would stick with either a real Apple SSD or get either an OWC or Transcend SSD which are direct replacements with no adapter.

In any case you first need to upgrade you maOS to High Sierra or newer before you do anything as the OS has the required drivers.
