The HDMI is connected but the tv shows a black screen, why?

Whenever I connect the HDMI cable to my TV it shows the blue connected Icon next to the HDMI option showing that it is connected but when I select it there is nothing, no sound, no video just a black screen

You can either replace the HDMI cable or replace the HDMI chip and HDMI slot on the motherboard.

@naranc first we need to know what the exact model number for your TV is. Then you want to verify that you have no image on all inputs. Try all of those. If it remains dark, unplug everything that is plugged in the back of your TV. unplug the TV and push the power button for about one minute, then plug it back in. See if that resets your TV.

If it remains unchanged, its time to remove the back cover from your TV. Unplug the power line of course. Now take a look at tall the boards, Check for anything that looks different. Charred, blackened components or traces etc. Take a picture of your boards and post those with your question. That way we can see what you see.,

Your HDMI encoder is on the main board and that might be the issue, but only if your TV works with the other inputs. If none work right, it is most likely the processor on your main board. Again, we need to see your boards etc. to make a final determination
