Is this a broken screen?

My Fitbit charge 5 screen won’t turn on. It turns on for a second and then fades back out. I tried the charger reset twice and it didn’t fix the problem. It vibrates when I tap it (sometimes) but it isn’t tracking anything according to my app.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Open your Fitbit app on your phone and see if the watch is connected. Or put it on charge then try it. If it connects take it off charge and see if it disconnects. If it does then as mentioned earlier you probably need a new battery. I have three Fitbit’s, all without a screen and I can test to see if they are on or off this way.

Hi Abbie,

I don't know enough about your Fitbit to diagnose the problem you're seeing, but I can be fairly confident that it's not a screen problem; the behavior you're describing isn't consistent with either a bad touch screen or a bad display.

I'd lean toward it being a battery issue myself, but you'll probably want someone with a bit more intimate knowledge to check in with first.
