My screen looks like that.

Hi, out of the blue my screen become useless.

Any ideas what happened and how to repair it?

You could start with replacing that part. You didn't drop it did you?

Sorry your issue is not the data cable, you have a damaged display panel.

You could have damaged it by sitting something heavy on the system or something in your pack pressed it’s self into the displays lid in the middle along the edge. The sad possibility was something was wedged between the upper body and the displays lid when you closed the display.
