Keyboard and trackpad is unresponsive

Keyboard and trackpad became unresponsive suddenly. Power button works. No response from keyboard or trackpad on login-screen. Using cabled keyboard and mouse works for login and working on the Mac. The onboard keyboard and trackpad is also not working after login. There have been no spills, drops or any other events before the malfunction.

I have tried to update to newest MacOS without any change to the problem.

If you're getting response on external keyboard, I would try an NVRAM reset. You may even be able to use the internal keyboard to do this.

Otherwise, my money is on the trackpad, or the trackpad cable being bad. The trackpad often contains components that are for more than just the trackpad, keyboard functions also typically route some communications through the trackpad.
