No boot with iSight cable plugged in "Solved"

I have a late 2007 model A1229 Macbook Pro 17" and was having dim screen issues. I thought it was the inverter so I bought a new one but that didn't fix it. During my installation of the new inverter, I noticed that the computer would not boot if I plugged the iSight cable in. I just hear some clicking when I hold down the power button. Not really sure how this happened all of the sudden. I've checked and re-checked the cables connections. Plugging in the Airport, Inverter, Antenna and LCD cables, the computer boots just fine. But as soon as I plug in the iSight cable into the motherboard, nothing - it won't boot at all.

Interesting side note, the screen is no longer dim after all of this. The brightness gradually came back as I have been messing with it.

I do not have a working battery so I'm just using the magsafe. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. New iSight/Antenna cables and a new battery are on order.

Anyone ever run into this kind of problem before? Got any tips of things I could try? It would be nice to have iSight working.

Update

The new iSight cable arrived and it fixed the problem. There were no signs of wear or damage on the old one but the new one solved it. Happy days are here again!
