iPad suddenly quit charging

iPad all of a sudden cut off then quit charging. I have tried several different cables tried charging through keyboard. All it does when plugged up is flash the red battery then flashes battery with lightening cable. iPad rarely got used. I have tried putting it in DFU mode but none of my computers will recognize it for me to do anything to it. :(

This sounds like an issue with the either the cable, the charger, or the charge port. If you're getting the cable image in screen also, that means it isn't actually getting any power, or enough power through the cable.

Have you tried any other chargers?

Yes I have tried lots of other chargers. I repair IPhones and IPads I do a lot of screen replacements and iPhone repairs but this iPad Pro I’m stumped on it.

@chelsid Do you have a USB multimeter laying around? It would be helpful to know in this case, what the iPad is actually doing electrically. Something like this.

If current going in is sketchy, or no current is flowing into the unit, it could be the port itself. Which is lucky on these if that’s the case, because they re actually modular rather than soldered onto the board.

I’ve also seen devices which sat in disuse for long periods of time (6 months or more) have bad batteries after coming out of storage. But knowing if any energy is making into the iPad would be helpful.
